MMA

MMA, or Mixed Martial Arts, is a full-contact combat sport that allows a wide variety of fighting techniques and skills from a mixture of other martial arts to be used in competition. It incorporates elements from disciplines such as boxing, wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, karate, and judo, among others. Fighters compete in a cage or ring, and matches can be won by knockout, submission, or judges’ decision. MMA is known for its emphasis on both striking and grappling, making it a diverse and dynamic sport. The rise of organisations like the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) has significantly popularised MMA worldwide, attracting a large audience and producing well-known athletes.
