Football

Football, also known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, and is generally divided into two halves. Players primarily use their feet to control and pass the ball, although they may also use their heads and torsos. Only the goalkeeper is allowed to use their hands, and only within a designated area known as the penalty area.

Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The sport is played at various levels, from amateur local leagues to professional leagues and international competitions, including the FIFA World Cup, which is the most prestigious tournament in the sport. Football is popular worldwide, with millions of players and fans, making it one of the most played and watched sports across the globe.
